Liberals do not as a rule point fingers at their own. The issue has to be fairly damaging or extremely transparent (the Obama phrase) to warrant spotlighting their own.
But last January a Democratic Congresswoman did exactly that. Ironically, her fingers were stretching in the direction of former President Barack Obama.
Her revelation about Obama
That takes nerve for a Democrat. Perhaps she believes the story is worth bringing out into the spotlight.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was on CNN with Jake Tapper about her (then) recent trip to Syria. Gabbard revealed that she had information that Obama had aided ISIS and other extremist groups in that war-torn country.
The Congresswoman related to Tapper that she had the proof of Obama’s hand in funding the rebels. Obama’s administration was aiding the fight against President Assad. But, the rebels were doing far worse according to the citizens of Syria.
Gabbard about the Syrian people:
“expressed happiness and joy at seeing an American walking their streets… (but) why is it that the United States, its allies and other countries, are providing support, are providing arms, to terrorist groups like Al-Nusra, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, who are on the ground there, raping, kidnapping, torturing, and killing the Syrian people?
“They asked me why is the United States supporting these terrorist groups who are destroying Syria – when it was Al-Qaeda who attacked the United States on 9/11, not Syria. I didn’t have an answer for that.“
“Obviously the United States government denies providing any sort of help to the terrorist groups you are talking about, they say they provide help for the rebel groups.“
What moderate rebels?
Congresswoman Gabbard articulated well the truth about these “rebels.”
“The reality is, Jake, and I’m glad you bought up that point. Every place that I went, every person I spoke to, I asked this question to them. And without hesitation, they said ‘there are no moderate rebels, who are these moderate rebels that people keep speaking of?’
“Regardless of the name of these groups, the strongest fighting force on the ground in Syria is Al-Nusra or Al-Qaeda and ISIS. That is a fact. There are a number of different other groups, all of them are fighting alongside, with or under the command of the strongest group on the ground that is trying to overthrow Assad.”
The so-called small group, moderate rebels are allies of ISIS and the other large terror organizations. They may have started as “freedom fighters” against Assad, but they assimilated quickly.
ISIS and Assad are dangerous
Don’t be swerved from the truth. Assad is a danger to his own people. The chemical attacks he has already perpetrated supports that truth. He enslaves or terrorizes his people.
But if these rebels oust Assad, ISIS has a stronger toe-hold in Syria to continue their reign of terror.
The people of Syria want to trust the United States. But Obama ambushed that trust by funding ISIS related groups. If the facts bear out, he deserves prison time.
Do you think Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is speaking the facts?
